Question: Good Afternoon, I'm having pain rt lower back just below the rib cage. It hurts a little when I breath in but NO chest pains or difficulty breathing. I have had stones in the past but these feels a little higher than normal. I took BP w/ one of those home monitors..138/68 ? Just wondering if it could be a Kidney stone again or just pulled muscle ? Thank You

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

Regarding your concern, I agree with you that it could be a kidney stone, as well as a musculo-skeletal pain.

For this reason, I would recommend performing an abdominal ultrasound.

In the meantime, I would recommend taking painkillers (ibuprofen, naproxene, etc.).

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,
