Brief Answer:
In my opinion, further evaluation is necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to the "Ask a Doctor" service.

I have read your question.

Some degrees of headache are acceptable during or after a viral infection.

In general, these pain syndromes may last a couple of weeks and gradual improvement is expected.

Since there is the persistence of the pain even with medication, and neck pain too, in my opinion, further evaluation is necessary.

A cervical MRI is necessary to evaluate degenerative changes of your neck (spondylosis for example) that may justify headaches too.

Discuss with your Doctor these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
