Brief Answer:
Ph level test is for gastric acidity.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Ph level test is for gastric acidity. Sometimes, hyperacidity in stomach can cause reflux and micro aspiration. These can cause coughing.
So to rule out this, upper GI (gastrointestinal) scopy is done.
In this sample is taken from stomach to determine acidity. This is known as Ph level test.
There is no terminology like SOS test.
There might be some spelling mistake or misunderstanding. So can you please tell me which doctor has prescribed these tests?
Can you upload the prescription of it so that I can see what exactly doctor has written?
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.

Hello Doctor.

Thanks for a quick reply.

Actually the test is called SOS MEMOMETRY. What is this test for?

Also, can you please tell me whether it is necessary to be hospitalized to do 24 Hour PH test.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Yes, hospitalization is necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, hospitalization is necessary because it is 24 hour Ph test. They need to monitor your stomach acidity (Ph) for 24 hours. So that treatment can be planned. So hospitalization is must.
And second test is menometry. It is pressure measurement in lower esophageal sphincter. It is to determine laxity of lower esophageal sphincter as a cause for GERD.
Hope I have solved your query.
