Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The presence of pus coming from the surgical site after a Comando surgery for buccal mucosa cancer is a concern and could indicate an infection or other complication.

Here are some possible causes of pus coming from the surgical site:

* **Infection:** An infection can occur if bacteria enter the surgical site and cause inflammation and the production of pus. This is a common complication of surgery and typically requires treatment with antibiotics.

* **Poor Wound Healing:** If the surgical site isn't healing properly, it may not close completely, allowing bacteria to enter and causing an infection. This can be due to factors such as malnutrition, smoking, or underlying health conditions.

* **Fistula:** A fistula is an abnormal opening between two organs or tissues. In this case, it could be an opening between the surgical site and another part of the mouth or throat. A fistula can cause drainage of pus and other fluids and may require additional surgery to repair.

* **Wound Care:** Proper wound care is crucial for preventing and treating infections.

* **Additional Surgery:** In some cases, additional surgery may be needed to address the underlying cause of the pus drainage, such as repairing a fistula or removing any remaining infected tissue.
