Dr. We Live In XXXXXXX And Came To XXXXXXX For

Question: Dr. We live in XXXXXXX and came to XXXXXXX for a few weeks to attend to some work at my in laws. Due to rising cases in West Bengal, we decided to shorten our stay and return Sunday the 9th to Bengaluru. Our 7 year old is not vaccinated.
How safe would it be to fly at this time , when compared to staying put ( the risk for which is also not zero and is mentioned below) ?

Risk of staying put:
1. WB is reporting a 23% positivity rate, and XXXXXXX is only 3%, so staying put is also a cumulative risk- I feel my in laws will eventually get
2. My in laws house is in a densely populated area with shops nearby. Just opening a window or door makes the wind come in, and there are unmasked people in the streets often. The street is 5 meters from the window.
3. A full time maid in the house sometimes opens the door/rings the bell with no handwashing post that, and may receive deliveries without a mask.
.
Precautions we will take when flying:
We wear 3M 8210 N 95 masks with surgical masks over it , and my son also has a SWASA kids N 95 mask with surgical on top of it . We plan to wear a PPE gown on the flight and a plastic raincoat for my son.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome To Ask A Doctor Service
I have gone through your question, I understand your concern.
No issue in flying, if you take proper precautions.
Only wearing mask and PPE kit would not help.
You have to avoid unsafe hand to nose/mouth contacts.
If you wear mask properly and avoid unsafe hand to nose/mouth contact... Then you can fly safely.
I hope your query is clear now.
Thanks and regards
