Done PET-CT And CA15-3. Taken IGRL 20, Anastazole And Zometa. Opinion?
Question: on 29-8 2012 ,on advice of oncophysician i have repeated pet-ct and ca15-3 which reported as under..
Pet/ct ---lesion of l3,4,5 showed mild metabolic activity suv 8.3 which was 5.9 on 20 01 2012 However lesion does not show any morphologic change.It also reportred type 2 neck node having uptake of 5 which was 4. seven months back.Rest of pet/ct reported physiological uptake.Her ca 15-3 was 11.9 as against 9.3 seven months back
Then she was adminstered IGRL 20 Gray in 5 fraction to lumbar area .Her Anastozole and Zometa are continued as past.
Banking on greatly improved survival statisitics after local contol can i ask you to opine and guide me regarding any change if recquired .Her hb was 11.5, W.B.C was 4900.platlets 2.0000. Will radiotherapy greatly affect her cbc count

Overall I feel that she is maintaining her response well. All the reports are pointing to stable disease at present.
Probably I would not have given the radiation but 20 gy dose will not affect the cbc in a big way.
She needs to continue the anastrozole and zometa.

Whether ca15-3 and PET/CT or bone scan after after six months needed to assess response. Is neck node 2 mild uptake is cause of worry if so suggest how to tackle it .How long radiation in vertebra(3 months molding time) will have continued pharmacolgical action...
At least CA - 15-3 Should be done every three months. PETCT may be done if it increases or there are symptoms.
The neck node does not appear to be of much concern. It needs follow-up only.
