Does Stomach Bloating, Nausea And Back Pain Indicate Chlamydia Infection?

Question: I got tested a month ago because i was having weird symptoms as if i was pregnant the only thing was that i was 100% sure i wasn't but my stomach seemed to be bloated, nausea, cravings, back pain and really tired it looked like if i was really pregnant. Beneath my stomach i was having weird pains so i decided to go to the doctor and get a checkup i had been treated before for a vaginal infection so my first thought was maybe i had gotten another one but then after all the weird symptoms i knew that wasnt it so my doctor decided to do me some tests for all STD's and at the same time a sonogram he wanted to make sure i wasn't pregnant in case i needed to take medicine. Well my sonogram showed that i wasnt pregnant at all but my test results for STD's came to show that i had Chlamydia Trachomatis he explained it that it was only sexually transmitted so i was completely surprised because i was still a virgin when i married my husband 3 months ago and i haven't been with no one else but him. So i told my husband what the doctor had told me and he denied having it or even having symptoms so i asked him to get tested just in case because i wanted to make sure he didnt have anything. He got hes results back about 2 weeks ago and didn't know how to tell me that hes results came out negative he didnt have anything when he told me that i was like what?? i haven't been unfaithful to you and i was a virgin when i married you. So my husband seems to be confused and doubting me. I on the other hand cant explain how is it that i had it and he didn't. So i consulted another Dr. and he told me he wasn't surprised since he only got a urine test and a blood test and those tests were not always 100% accurate and that he recommended me to tell him to get a swab test around the area or another test that is called urine culture. Is that true?? I need to know and show my husband that i was not lying

Brief Answer:
3 consequetive specimens have more valuable than a single test

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.

As your doctor told that almost all tests for chlamydia are not 100% accurate including swab from urethra also. Repeated test 3 consecutive specimens would be more accurate. Examination of prostatic fluid for Chlamydia after a prostatic massage, seminal fluid and with first voiding urine with NAAT will be giving more reliable results. Culture over cellular lining is difficult and not very sensitive.
But instead of investigating each other and find out the source of infection, it is better to get treated both for Chlamydia.

Brief Answer:
A good counselling will convince him for partner treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
I can understand your situation.

Your husband needs counselling. An experienced doctor who can handle STDs can very well convince him for further treatment. Without a partner treatment STD management is not a complete one and you might get reinfected.
Tell him that there are possibilities for Chlamydia being undetected many a time by available tests. It is enough for him to take a single dose therapy for Chlamydia with Azithromycin about which your physician would guide. Definitely he can be convinced.
