Brief Answer:

Visual status information needed.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The decision of surgery is taken on the basis of visual status, how many lines he can see on the board and difficulty in his activities.

As to the discomfort he is having in whatever he does. We operate lesser cataracts where visual demand is more.

Do get back to me with details of his vision and level of difficulty he is having to come to a conclusion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
