Does My Following CBC Result Indicate Lupus?

Question: Hello. I just received my CBC results from my GYN. I tested positive for ANACHOICE screen DNA Antibody. My dr said it could be a false +, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. He wants me to follow up with an RA doctor for further testing. Can you elaborate. I am a bit worried. Thx XXXXXXX

Your tests reports shows positive for both ANA and DS DNA Antibody -- very much suggestive of disease called Systemic Lupus Erythematosis ( Lupus )

But Lupus is not diagnosed only based on blood reports. There are certain criteria which if fulfilled will make a patient having Lupus.

So I need to know , are you having any problems ? And if yes what and since how long ?

Hello Dr. Divarka,
I can identify with quite a few of the symptoms. Extreme fatigue, a lot of hair loss, headaches, breathing issues (get winded easily), swelling around eyes, hands. I had a history of anemia and chalked that up to my fatigue but it looks like my hemoglobin is fine. Hair loss we thought it might be hormones but is not..Is it possible this could be a false positive?

Hair loss is one of the symptom of Lupus . Breathing difficulty is also one of the symptom of Lupus.

You have not posted your Hemogram report which I would like to see . Also I want you to get Urine protein–to-creatinine ratio which will add to the diagnosis of Lupus .

But overall your symptoms could be explained by Lupus and with Positice DS DNA test you are most likely to have Lupus.

Yes I got all 4 pages and I have gone through all the reports . But there was no Hemogram report in that. I advise you to upload that or if not done get a Complete Hemogram and revert back .

I am going to follow up with an RA Doctor. I dont not have any other reports than the ones Ive shown you. Is Hemogram for hemoglobin and such? I guess ive been having many symptoms of lupus for a long time now. Just never thought it was lupus. Im a little scared.

Yes Hemogram is for Hemoglobin and some other parameters also will be checked in that.

Consult your RA doctor and don't be scared , there are lot of good treatment available for Lupus.
