Brief Answer:
Medications are available but carries more risk.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Health care Magic,

If she has passed 20 days from her expected date of periods that means she has 7 weeks of pregnancy calculated from her LMP means last menstrual period.

7 weeks of pregnancy can be aborted by medications (such as MT pill) but there should be ultrasound of abdomen before taking this drug to make sure the pregnancy is in the uterus itself and not ectopic (means in tubes, ovary)

The side effects are incomplete abortion, heavy bleeding through vagina, etc.

So,the medicine must be taken under gynaecologist supervision so that if there is any complications arise,it can be managed easily.

In case of incomplete abortion she need to go for surgical evacuation.

Whether to go with medical or surgical method,it depends upon you.

Kindly consult your gynaecologist for further advice and management.

Hope this will help you.

Brief Answer:
MT pill (mifepristone tablet)

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for the follow-up.

I insist on getting an ultrasound scan and visiting a gynecologist before starting pills for abortion. Once these formalities are complete you can be started on MT pill.

The abortion pills can cause life threatening bleeding and infection and hence the aforementioned protocols. Even in normal pregnancy termination, chances of more bleeding is not uncommon. Therefore it is better to go pregnancy terminated under careful supervision.

Hope you will take this advice in right perspective.

Brief Answer:
MT pill (mifepristone 200 mg).

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

The dosage of mifepristone is 200 mg to be taken once at a time and should wait for pain and bleeding to occur. After 36 hours it will be followed with misoprostol 800 mg to abort the fetal tissue completely.

And yes, the procedure should be done under strict supervision of gynecologist.

Brief Answer:
Very unlikely to be having diarrhea after this pill.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the follow-up.

To avoid diarrhea or nausea, you should take light food before the use of mifepristone and misoprostol pills.

It is very unlikely to be having diarrhea after mifepristone and misoprostol pills and if it occurs it could be managed easily.

Generally, if the diarrhea is mild then it may get subsided by itself and without any specific medications, So I would advise to wait for at least 24 hours with proper fluid and electrolytes balance.(increase your fluid intake to avoid dehydration).

If still symptoms persists then anti-diarrheal agents (Imodium) along with antispasmodics (meftal-spas) and antacids (pantoprazole 40) may be prescribed by your gynecologist. You may get the medicine prescribed by the current gynecologist.

Hope this will help you.

Hello Sir,
There are some visible blister, ulcer/boils on the back after taking the medicines. Could this be because of the heat of the medicines. Please prescribe the medicines for blisters, internal and external cream if any to be applied.

Brief Answer:
Mt pill is not known to cause this kind of side effects.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for the follow-up.

I can not say exactly whether this blister and boils/ulcer are actually due to MT pill or not.

Generally MT pill has not known to cause this kind of side effects but,

If you could send me images of that boils or ulcers, blisters then it would be helpful for me to understand it properly and will guide you accordingly.

Boils or blisters can be treated with oral antibiotics (cephalosporins like cefadroxyl or cefixime) and antihistamines with other supportive treatment.

Get back to me with images.

Brief Answer:
small oral antibiotics course would be useful.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for sending image.

It seems to be cellulitis here from the picture.

It can be treated with small oral antibiotics course (preferably cephalosporins like cefadroxyl 500 or cefixime 200), antihistamines (cetrizine 10) and analgesic like diclofenac if there is pain.No need to apply antiseptic cream or ointment here.

The last two medicines are available over the counter but for antibiotic you will need prescription of a doctor.

So,i would advice you to see some local doctor or your gynecologist who will inspect the lesion and can prescribe you above antibiotics.

Brief Answer:
Consult gynecologist urgently.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

Thanks for the follow-up.

As we have already discussed, there can be excess bleeding after taking this MT pill and in rare case, it can be life threatening also.

This heavy bleeding may be continued for another 2 to 3 days as the fetal tissue is being aborted completely due to this pill. In this circumstance, please follow up with the prescribing gynecologist. She can evaluate the severity of bleeding and manage it accordingly.

Hope you will understand it in a right way.
