Question: In Aug 2015, I went to the ER with all the symptoms of food poisoning. After the tests, it turned out to be very severe Gastritis & a hiatal hernia. I began seeing a GI doctor & started a regiment of different medications. He also performed an endoscopy & colonoscopy. I was also tested for Celiac's & Colitis (I have neither). I've had to drastically change my diet (of course), but the main trigger for my stomach pain is stress. My younger brother is in prison; my father has just been "cured" of laryngeal cancer; my mother has cancer, Celiac's & Colitis; my aunt has just had a complete bone marrow transplant; & I lost my job 2 weeks before Christmas. There is literally no way for me to avoid stress. My meds are Protonix; Robinul Forte; Lomotil; Ultram; Paxil CR; Klonopin; & Seroquil. I'm allergic XXXXXXX Phen & Bactrim. I have spoken to my GI about a stronger pain medication for my stomach, but he can only prescribe the Ultram & has advised taking 2 at a time. I've researched blogs from other individuals with this pain & approximately 90% have said suboxine has helped more than anything else. Unfortunately, the state of AL only considers this for detox from controlled substances. Is there any way to use my insurance to try this as pain management & what type of doctor should I see for this?
