default
Posted on Mon, 28 Dec 2015
Question: I took 1 tea of Diocto without water and it burned my throat. I have taken 3 glasses of water and ate 4 vanilla puddings, which helped. Is it possible that my throat will swell shut.

Depends upon severity of burn but usually unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank You for contacting HCM. My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. Its unlikely that throat will swell to an extent that it will cause serious complications. I would suggest you to try following measures and keep close eye on your condition:

Take hot water in a cup, add 1 table spoon salt in it. Perform gargles (mouth wash) with it three times a day for at least 3 days. It will give soothing effect.

Avoid taking very hot or spicy food. You will see improvement in 1-2 days BUT if condition remains same or aggravates then you need to visit hospital for further workup.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
