Adenoid infection may or may not cause ear infection. Which requires a thorough evaluation to confirm the actual cause.

1. Adenoid infection can lead to edema of the Eustachian tube (the tube connecting nose and the ear) and thus block. Blockage of this tube alters the middle ear pressure and accumulation of fluid. This fluid can get infected and ooze out. The infected secretions emits foul smell.

2. Secondly, cerumen in the ear can emit foul smell, which is independent of adenoid hypertrophy.

Hence, I would suggest you to get examined by a good doctor and plan the management accordingly.
