Brief Answer:
It is unlikely that this is related to the local heating pad

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.

I carefully read your question.

Kidney disease is not related to local heat and it is unlikely in your case also that local heating pads have caused it.

There are several causes for kidney disease.
Sometimes immune diseases might affect them and cause chronic problems.

Patients with diabetes or hypertension are found to have sometimes chronic kidney disease as they both affect the vessels in our body and might affect the kidney's vessels also.

Cardiac problems might bring kidney damage due to reduced blood flow in the kidneys. Stenosis of the artery that supplies the kidney might cause damage to kidney also.

Chronic use of certain medications might cause chronic kidney damage.

Massive damage of the muscles due to trauma or excessive exercise might bring kidney damage.

There are inherited disorders that might affect kidneys so if you have others in your family with kidney problems you might be at risk for those disorders.

So to conclude, it is unlikely the kidney damage is related to local heating but there is a wide range of possible causes that might cause it.

I hope this is helpful to you and answers to your question, let me know if there's any further queries.

Kind regards

Dr Antoneta Zotaj
