Question: Hi..my blood group o+ve & my fiancee is o-ve... will it lead to serious complications during pregnancy .. I'm really worried.. please help me. Will the baby be healthy & can I plan another baby.

1) Having different blood groups is not a problem .

2) It does not lead to any serious problems.

3) You can definitely have more than one baby. No problem.

4) She will need an injection called Inj. Anti D after delivery if baby's blood group is positive. Thats a simple and small matter.

5) You can have happy life marrying woman with o negative blood group.

Thanks for your reply Dr. It eased me out.

Can you please tell me what are the precautions that needs to be taken during pregnancy... do we have be more cautious just because my wife is O-ve.. and mothers blood do not mix with babys blood?

There are no precautions needed. She can carry pregnancy like any other woman.
