Brief Answer:
Green stools do not indicate progresson of HepC.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this HepC. I am however happy that you are getting treatment for this. Green stools really have nothing to do with HepC. There is just no reason to associate both. Stools change depending on what we eat, and the different combinations. Be relaxed about this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

I am not in treatment now though I have been in the past with the interferon. I cleared but relapsed. That was 13 years ago. I did have pale stool a time or two. I fear treating again as I recently lost my husband and for the past two years my life has been very hard. I have been drinking light beer on a regular basis since his illness started and fear I might have harmed myself. How lethal is alcohol with hep and how long must you be alcohol free before tx. No clue how I got this but it had to be at least 30 years ago. I don't know if I'm ready to make changes until spring. Is the new tx as promising as the docs say? Thank you for your prompt and honest answer. I sometimes feel as though my doc is pushing my panic buttons. My alt and ast have gone up
Thank you

Brief Answer:
The new treatment has at least 95% success rate!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The new treatment is one of the major gains against HepC in recent years. It is very friendly with few side effects and last just 12weeks with an amazing cure rate. I bet you to try it. The only limitation is that it is expensive.

Alcohol damages the liver and with a fragilized liver by HepC, this could be a bigger problem. I will recommend you stop drinking. Taking alcohol to address stress just makes the problem bigger. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. I pray you find the inner peace to accept this huge loss and move on.

As for the stools, they are not suggestive of any specific disease condition or process right now. I wish you well.
