Does Extreme Weather Conditions Lead To Any Neurological Disorders?

Posted on Tue, 5 Jul 2016
Question: Hai...
This is XXXXXXX

One and half year ago, I was affected with bells palsy and treatment were done by the local neurologist. I used prescribed medicine and taken physiotherapy exercises (facial exercises and electrical stimulation). After that, everything went fine.

Now I am doing Ph.D. in XXXXXXX XXXXXXX where extreme environments are normal. I am facing extremely hot air in summer and extremely cold air in winter seasons. Because of these environments, sometimes, I am feeling pain in my ears.

Does these extreme weathers again lead to any neurological disorders (Because i am facing ear pain when my ears are exposed to those types of air)?

If yes, what types of precautions and medicare should be taken in order to keep my health stable?

Brief Answer:
Keep precautions , get evaluated by ENT specialist

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Bell's palsy is usually idiopathic or related to viral infection.
Repeat episodes are very rare.
In case of repeated episodes other etiologies like sarcoidosis, vasculitis should be evaluated.
For prevention, avoid extreme cold air exposure to the ears.
Get an ENT consultation if hearing loss, ear discharge present.

Yeah, thank you very much for the reply.
Definitely, I will try not to expose to cold air. But what about hot air? (as XXXXXXX has hot weather than any anywhere else)
I don't have any problem like hearing loss or ear discharge but sometimes I feel ear pain when exposed to hot air. Is this hot air reason for ear pain or anything else?
