Many thanks for your reply ! Can it / castor oil do any harm , though ?
We have read a number of testimonials that heated, diluted , castor oil, when rubbed into the scar over long periods of time - like 6-9 months, breaks up the keloid formation and makes the scar much smaller and much less visible .
So, have you had any personal observations that castor oil is not effective?
Also, can you recommend any other ( essential oils) in treating our scar ? To be XXXXXXX it is only partially keloid .
Lastly, what do you think is the best course of treatment ( laser, cosmetic surgery, cremes etc) ? and what is the optimal timing ?

I have seen few patients using castor oil for keloids and hypertrophic scars with mimimal or no improvement but it didnot cause any harm or side effects.
If you want to give it a try you can go ahead as it won't cause any harm.
As far as oils are concerned they are not effective in treating scars.
Looking at the length and appearance of the scar you can consider going for microneedling sessions or ablative laser treatments.
