Does Air Travel With Infant Affect Their Brain Growth Development?
Question: Dear doctor,
I would need to travel for work so I have to bring my baby along. He is 6 months old and may I know if it is safe for him to fly? I had heard that pressure in the cabin will affect brain growth development at this point of time (the skull is not closed yet) and that there are radiation etc. Are the true ? What precautions can I take ? Is a pretty short flight of 4 hours

Pressure in the cabin is properly maintained. This is not the reason to refrain from flying for such a small child.
I would like to assure you that please do not worry. You can travel very well with your child.This is a quite common practice.
Many times babies do get some ear ache during travel and they become little irritable. This can be managed with some anesthetic ear drop like otogesic ear drop.
