Brief Answer:
Yes it's accurate as blood thinner do not effect test for anemia)

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Anemia is defined by low HB (hemoglobin) level. Blood thinner medicine do not effect laboratory testing of HB level .So if there is anemia (low HB level) this is true anemia and not effect of blood thinning medicine.

Yes blood thinner medicine may change certain other tests of blood but not HB. Some times these medicine may cause anemia itself by causing bleeding but the results remains ineffective.

So I mean to say that the result is not because of the blood thinner rather a true result; and it should be investigated as what could be the cause of her low HB and should be corrected accordingly.

I hope I have answered your question. Please don't hesitate to ask anything else you need to know in this regards.

wish her great health.

Kind Regards,
Dr. Rahman
