Brief Answer:
Yes , these two medicines interact commonly

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I am Dr Rahul Rathee and it would be my pleasure to clear your doubts .
You must be already aware that zyvox is a antibiotic containing the salt linezolid and zoloft is a anti-depressant containing the salt sertraline .
Coming to your query , yes these two drugs do interact commonly . Both these drugs increases the amount of a bio-chemical substance called as serotonine in the blood .
Although serotonin is normally present in certain amounts in the body and is required in various functions of the body .
But too much of serotonin can have dangerous effects , specially on the nervous system .
As i have mentioned earlier , both the drugs you have mentioned increases the amount of serotonin in the blood and hence can lead to unwanted and dangerous side effects .
I would strongly advice you to consult your doctor before taking these two medicines together .
I hope i have answered your query to your satisfaction but if you have any more doubts , please feel comfortable to ask me .
Regards
Dr Rahul Rathee
