Brief Answer:
WAL - ACT from Walgreens has the same ingredients as ACTIFED.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Walgreens carries a house brand that has the ingredients that ACTIFED had in it: pseudoephedrine and triprolidine. Pseudephedrine is a decongestant, and triprolidine is an antihistamine.

You will not find it on the shelf because medications containing pseudoephedrine are now controlled. This is because illegal drug manufacturers would "cook" it into methamphetamine (an illegal drug).

So you have to ask the pharmacist for it and show your ID.

If you take it, I advise stopping the Claritin and Nexafed that you are currently taking as you would be likely overdoing the antihistamine (Claritin) and decongestant (Nexafed).

I see that you had a kidney transplant in the past and it would be wise to check out any medications you take, including over the counter ones, with your kidney specialist. I am a family practice doctor and don't know which medications would be contraindicated, so do check with your kidney doctor.
