Does Valtrex Interact With Other BP Medicines?
Question: I am a 73 year old woman and I have a history of shingles and I have a prescription for Valtrex. I just started on medication for high blood pressure called Xarelto and Losartan and Matopropol. I have just experienced another outbreak of shingles this morning from the stress of all this new stuff happening to me and it is the weekend and I cannot talk to my doctor that prescribed my new medicine, but I need to know if I can take the Valtrex or what alternative if I cannot. I am miserable with pain.

There is no adverse interaction between Valtrex and your blood pressure medicines and therefore you can take Valtrex while you are on them. In addition if you are in severe pain you can take Gabapentin for pain relief . If Gabapentin is not available, a pain killer also will bring some relief.
