It is generally not recommended to take Fiorinal with Ultram because both have central nervous system depression effects such as sedation, and combining them can cause increased effects (increased sedation, possible respiratory depression).
If your doctor is aware that he/she prescribed both of them to you (rather than one doctor prescribed one, and another doctor prescribed the other), then I will defer to his or her judgement in terms of their knowledge of whether your body will handle it safely. However, if your doctor prescribed one and then some time later the other, and may not realize you have both, then don't take both until you discuss this with him/her.
So in answer to your question, if your doctor is aware, then use these with caution and no driving while you are on both. Otherwise, I'd say use one or the other but not both.
