Posted on Fri, 25 Apr 2014
Question: Good morning, my blood pressure used to be very low and over the last few years it has been sneaking up. now around 140/95. I was doing some research and saw the information on Systolex. Both of my parents took blood pressure pills to regulate and I am not really wanting to go that direction. I have increased my water intake and have started to exercise daily also. I have always had a healthy diet , lots of fruit and vegetables. Does Systolex have side effects? Thanks. Beverley

Brief Answer: No worries to side effects, but see dr Detailed Answer: Hi and thanks for the query, Systolex has been proven effective in controlling blood pressure. The additional advantage is that it is natural with minimal or almost no described side effects. The fact that you have a family history of hypertension deserves keener attention. It is great that you have started diet regulation and exercise. I am afraid at some point you might have to associate other drugs, in case the initial systolex and diet/exercise fail. The most important with respect to exercise is being constant and persistent. I would suggest watching you diet, weight and exercise frequently. Follow up of blood pressure levels by your doctor however remains imperative. No worries with Systolex with respect to effectiveness or side effects. However, recommendations really do not take into consideration natural products. Reason why the opinion of your doctor remains critical. Kind regards. Brief Answer: Positive , nice drug. BP monitoring by your Dr Detailed Answer: Hi and thanks for the query, You are right. However, a few thing need to be taken into consideration. Q - 10 has very positive effects with most studies in preventing heart attacks, heart failure and reduction of cholesterol levels. Q - 10 also lowers blood pressure. This drug however may take about 2 to 4 weeks to produce blood pressure lowering. The advantage is the drug is natural, has many positive effects in preventing cardiovascular events. However, it should be well monitored when used and should be used as an adjuvant. Using it alone might not produce very spectacular results, especially when the blood pressure is too high. I suggest proper monitoring of blood pressure should be noted when patients are on Q - 10. The positive health consequences have been proven in most clinical studies. Kind regards. Dr Bain
