Does Primolut-N Help In Treating Delayed Period?

default
Posted on Thu, 27 Oct 2016
Question: Hi, doctor, I already 2 weeks late when I saw my doctor yesterday, my usg result was that my womb wall is too thin, therefore he gave promul-n for 10 days. I was just curious, what will I expect after 10 days, i'm getting pregnant or my period resumes? If I want to get pregnant, should I try within these ten days?? Or it won't make any difference? Thank you

Brief Answer:
Chances of pregnancy are not there

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy, hormonal disturbances or stress.
If the uterine lining is thin, then there are no chances of pregnancy.
Primulet N is given to induce the periods.
You will have withdrawal periods within 5-7 days of stopping the drug.
Chances of pregnancy are not there, and you should get a urine pregnancy test to confirm the diagnosis.
You should avoid getting pregnant now as Primulet N can harm the fetus, if pregnancy occurs.
Hope you found the answer helpful .

Thank you doctor. So I shouldn't make any sexual intercourse within the next 9 days as long as I still consuming Primulet N. If I do want to be pregnant then how can I predict my ovulation period since there is some changes on the schedule.

Brief Answer:
Transvaginal ultrasound should be done

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have reviewed the report.
The report is suggestive of pregnancy of 4-5 weeks gestation.
I will suggest you to get a repeat transvaginal ultrasound to confirm pregnancy and rule out any ectopic pregnancy, which if found, should be managed immediately.
