Does Prednisone Affect Sleep?

default
Posted on Sat, 26 Apr 2014
Question: If I take 40 mg of prednisone now - 7:00 pm - will it keep me up tonight. Have it for torn cornea that cleared up but also have an autoimmune condition and has flared back up again. Used the antibiotic drops starting three hour ago but the pain is monumental and would like to start the pred. Now if it won't be disastrous for the night. Thoughts?XXXX

Brief Answer: You can safely take Prednisone Detailed Answer: Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day You can safely take Prednisone. It will definitely not affect the sleep rhythm if taken after dinner . Also would advise you to take antacids along with it. As the most common side effect on 1 St dose will be gastritis. There is absolutely no reason for worry, you can safely go ahead and take it. take care Best Regards Dr T Shobha Deepak MBBS, MD
