Brief Answer:
No further testing is required.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

You had risky encounter but started PEP medicines within time and these drugs don't delay antibody testing so allay the fear or anxiety of having HIV because you are definitely safe and risk-free. The symptoms are likely to be due to a sore throat or any other reason but not related to HIV.

The test results for HIV are negative even after 3 months of exposure then you need not go for any further testing as these results are 100% reliable and conclusive.

Be relaxed, forget the episode and live your life normally. For any further doubt feel free to ask me again any time.

Thank You

Brief Answer:
No HIV drug will interfere with antibody testing.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

HIV tri-dot test is definitely conclusive after 3 months and if you go for RNA PCR then also the result will surely come as negative because I have never seen such case where tridot negative came positive with RNA PCR so don't get worried.

As per guidelines you need to get tested after one month, 3 months and 6 months of completion of PEP but these results are 100% accurate because the window period for HIV also varies from 15 days to 3 months so be relaxed and move on in life.

Thank You

Brief Answer:
The symptoms are not related to HIV.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Mild fever and headache are not related to HIV and these are not the side effects of PEP medicines so just calm down. The window period is same for the HIV 1 as well as HIV 2 and no further testing for STI is needed. Be relaxed, forget the episode and you can definitely live the normal sex life with your wife without any risk of transmission of infection.
