Brief Answer:
Can be taken but PT INR monitoring is required.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to health care magic,

Patients on Coumadin (warfarin) need to do frequent monitoring of Prothombin time PT with INR blood test.

Results have shown that those who consume flax-seeds oil, fish oil and focus factor (contains vitamins, minerals, herbs and other key ingredients like omega-3 fatty acids) have increase levels INR.

Flaxseed and fish oil have shown a propensity to decrease platelet aggregation and therefore increase bleeding time and thus raise INR (causes blood to be more thinner in simple words)

Hence,I would recommend to increase the frequency of blood testing for PT-INR (like every monthly or alternative month or as per regular treating doctor's opinion) if you want to consume them.

As far as your Prothombin time (PT)with INR remains in a desired level there is no issue to take it.

Kindly consult with your treating physician who will know about it better and can determine how frequently INR needs to be monitored before starting them.

I hope i have answered your query.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
