Question: Dear Doctor,

My Father 60 Year Old male, He is good physical nature (Height & Weight are good) Recently he had affected by Kidney stone, Doctors are confirmed 6mm stone formed in tube not in kidney.
Reports are attached kindly check with reports whether is it possible to destroy the stone without any surgery/endoscopy.
The local doctors are confirmed to him, by drinking(taking liquid foods & pass urine regular interval) more water in a day, stone will automatically come outside, now he is taking consciously water more & pass the urine.
If it can be come out in normal urine is there any symptoms while coming?
Because recent days he is affected by small fever, he is checking with local MBBS doctor & clear his fever (only one time fever came)
Please confirm is that ok? Or do we need to any surgery/endoscopy. How long it will take to getting cure?
Kindly advice.
Also his blood reports are also attached, Kindly check the Sugar & Chlostral are within limits are not.

Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

I have gone through the attached reports and here are my interpretations

1. Distal ureteric small stone usually passes off by itself by drinking water and does not require surgery
2. The fact that he has developed fever could mean that there could be urinary tract infection due to the stone. Stone will passing off , there will be pain while passing
3. I suggest him to take a urine routine test done to rule out infection, if there is infection then he will require treatment with antibiotics
4. repeat ultrasound after a week, if the stone is still present then it was to be removed by utererscopy, usually done by urologist

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Brief Answer:
Diabetes

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back

Cholesterol levels are under control. Hemoglobin is low for which he will require further evaluation in the form of iron studies and Vit b12 levels. Anemia ( low hemoglobin) can be the reason for his inactiveness. I recommend him to start Iron tablets like orofer XT twice daily after giving blood for iron studies.

His sugars are also high, please approach a local doctor to adjust his diabetic tablets. I recommend Tab Voglibose with food to bring down his ppbs.

I recommend the following lifestyle changes

1. Daily exercise for 30 min, in the form of walking
2. Avoid sugars and sugar items like sweets and aerated drinks
3. I also recommend that he drinks plenty of water, about 5 glasses a day
4. Avoid food rich in fat like pakodas, chips, etc
5. To prevent stones let him avoid high salt containing food like pickle, chips, popcorn, etc and red meat

If you have any other doubts please get back to me, i'll clarify it for you
