Brief Answer:
Mild pain during removal,

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

Stents are foreign bodies. The body of course reacts to these bodies through an inflammatory reaction. One of the main symptoms of inflammation are pain. It is but normal that you experience some pain after this procedure. The pain however generally fades gradually as the stents stay. In most patients, complete disappearance of the pain is rare, but is well controlled with simple analgesics. It becomes a major call for concern when pain remains constant or increases in intensity.

During the removal procedure, the Doctors do everything possible to minimize pain through special anesthetic techniques. No fear of any pain during the removal process. After, When the stents shall be removed, this is a traumatic event to the body also, and there is some residual inflammatory action that shall take place before the healing process gets completed. Some degree of mild to moderate pain should be expected. The good news is it is not severe, reduces rapidly as the days go by after the procedure, and is well controlled and tolerated when simple analgesics are used.

You need not bother. I think all shall be well.

Kind regards as I wish you the best of health.
