Brief Answer:
Provide more details and attach reports

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
What exactly is the location of neck pain. Is it posteriorly or anteriorly.
Where is the distension in carotids? Any reports available?
Carotid distension in neck region may cause pain in anterior neck but sinus involvement is unlikely.
Any pain radiation to upper limbs?
Any swallowing difficulty?
Any swelling over anterior neck?
Provide more details.

Brief Answer:
possibility of eagle syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The location of picture suggest possibility of either muscular pain or Eagle syndrome.
In this syndrome enlarged styloid process causes compression of carotid vessel and adjacent structures.
The pain can be in neck, throat, face with associated dysphagia.
You need to get an xray of neck region. Ct scan may be required.
The treatment of Eagle syndrome is surgical.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

I did get a ct it as normal but I know that wouldn't show a torn artery. should I be worried about that? ?

Brief Answer:
Nothing serious

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If CT of neck region is normal then nothing serious.
No further investigation is required.
For vascular anatomy doppler study can be done.
Pain will subside with pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs.
Avoid repeated compression of neck.
Wishing you good health and early recovery.
