Do Having Pins And Needles In The Torso, Legs And Feet, And Vision Change Require Immediate Attention?

default
Posted on Fri, 12 Oct 2018
Question: I have the sensation on pins and needles. While I do experience them in my torso they are more defined on my legs and feet. I have had some veins burst (spider veins) as well. My feel and hands are swollen and I have experienced a change in my vision. Are these symptoms urgent? I cannot seem to get an appointment with my physician until late spring. Or is there a type of specialist I should be looking to visit?

Brief Answer:

Not urgent. Get your Vitamin B12 levels evaluated!

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have reviewed your information fully.

There is no urgency with this. However, your symptoms are suggestive of Vit B12 deficiency. I strongly recommend that you get the blood levels of Vit B12 and Methylmalonic acid measured.

You may also report finding to me for further insights and guidance.

Hope I have answered your question.

I wish you well and feel free to follow up with me if need be.
