Question: Hi Doctor,

Just wanted to check is it healthy to put baby on diapers during the full night.

Is there any risks associated with using diapers?

Please suggest the optimum utilisation of diapers.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Whether it is ok to put the baby on diapers for the entire night depends on the soaking capacity of the diaper. if the diapers can absorb the entire moisture and leave the skin dry, there is no issue, but if not, it might not be a good idea. Furthermore, if the baby prefers to lie prone, the diapers do not get squeezed by the body weight of the child and therefore it ok. If not, moisture trapping may lead to formation of diaper rash and therefore use of diapers might not be a great idea.

There is no defined optimum. You will have to find the balance for your child.
