Do Adenoid Tissue In Ear Cause Hearing Loss?

Question: I have been having trouble hearing since a really nasty ear infection 2 months ago. I finally got to see an ENT yesterday. She said that at 38 I shouldn't have any adenoid tissue and I do in my left sinus. She said this may be causing the hearing loss I have in my left ear. Is this possible?

I also have issues with allergies.

1. Adenoid tissue hypertrophy can lead to Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD) leading to frequent ear infections.

2. Adenoid tissue hypertrophy in adults is rare and must be investigated.

3. The hearing loss is conductive and more on the left, so this is consistent with your findings.

4. Sinusitis and a Post Nasal Drip (PND) of mucus can lead to this adenoid hypertrophy, which is more common. If medication does not settle this down, get the Sinus CT done. Get your allergy tests done.
