Brief Answer:
No. It is not a good decision!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Statins do not cause diabetes. They are prescribed for high cholesterol levels so as to protect the heart and blood vessels. Stopping statins would only make complications related to diabetes more likely to occur than not.

Family history is not the cause of diabetes but persons with family history of diabetes are at increased risk. It does not mean that if you do not have a family history, you would not have diabetes. It starts somewhere and many persons do not know whether someone in the family has it or not.

In all, stopping statins would only increase your chances of having possible complications and would not help with the diabetes.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

I have read a lot of information about statins (Zocor is what I take) causing women to get type 2 diabetes. That is why I asked about stopping the zocor. I do believe that is what caused me to get it.

Brief Answer:
Please, that information may not be from a trusted site!

Detailed Answer:
Please, froward the link of where you got the information to me. I am afraid that it is not from a good source. Again, zocor would not cause diabetes, please.

I wish you well and send the link to this site for my review.
