Brief Answer:
Symptoms not likely due to Macrobid

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

If you tolerated the brand name Macrobid well, then it is highly unlikely that you will develop problems with the generic one. Moreover, acute onset headache with vision changes is a bit concerning and other causes including eye issues and cerebrovascular issues need to be ruled out. Thorough physical examination, ophthalmic examination, and neurological examination are needed at this point.
If no other issues are identified, then switching to brand name Macrobid can be tried to treat the headache and vision changes.
So, please be advised to follow up with the emergency room for detailed evaluation.
