Developed Painful Cystic Acne, Swollen Red Lump On Cheek.How To Stop The Swelling And Get Cured?

Question: i have suddenly developed really painful cystic acne. Its a huge sollen red lump on my cheek. Is there something i can do to stop the swelling? I have been taking hostacycline tablet from yesterday and applying sandalwood and turmeric. Please help!!!

Thanks for writing in.

You can continue taking hostacycline tablets and applying sandalwood powder.

You can also do warm compresses on the swollen area.

Also anti inflammatory tablets like ibuprofen will be helpful.

Also you can apply benzoyl peroxide cream twice daily on affected area.

If cyst is large drainage of the cyst with needle may be needed.
A visit to dermatologist or physician may be needed in case of large cyst.
