Question: Dear sir,

14 year male with h/o LARGE SECONDUM ASD LEFT TO RIGHT SHUNT CLOSSURE DONE IN 2013 now 2d echo done which shows LVEF 60%, right ventricle and atrium dilated in size due to shunt - kindly confirm exact health condition with prognosis of case

Hello

Prognosis in young patients post ASD closure with normal PC function is similar like other healthy individuals.

However but in this patient as eight sided chambers are severely dilated as per echo report so the chances of getting frequent chest infections are there.
