Question: Dear Dr. Pandey,
You have answered my question below. The matter was "closed" because AskADr took so long to find a homeopath I gave up checking for a reply.
I have just seen your reply and it is very helpful indeed. Imay come back with a follow-up question after I do research on the homeopathic medicines you cited.
Cheers!

Dear Dr.
A person who is enduring peripheral neuropathy is told by everyone that it is important to find the cause because the proper treatment depends on the cause. However, finding that cause can quickly become a very complex adventure with multiple tests being taken over a period of many days. There may also, in addition, be many weeks of waiting time to get to the specialist who can order such tests.
In the meantime, the patient may well be experiencing annoying and randomly arriving stings of “pins and needles” and tingling at unpredictable parts of the body, leading to a significant rise in anxiety levels. The significant rise in anxiety levels soon becomes an intensifier of these symptoms.
What should be done to reduce the anxiety levels and to try to bring the symptoms down to an acceptable degree of annoyance while waiting for the tests to happen?
The only answer that I've seen in the medical literature and from a neurologist is that the person could take certain medications (“anxiolytic drugs” and/or non-prescription NSAIDs ) that tend to disrupt the passage of signals from the brain to other parts of the system and thus tend to inhibit the appearance of the symptoms.
In your opinion, is this taking of medications the only route available or recommended for achieving essential relief from pain and anxiety while the patient waits for tests to be conducted?

Thanks Dr. Patney, and yes indeed I will be doing research on the two items you recommended. I am getting remarkably fast improvement and using only new exercises and intense Yogic breathing, though it is impossible to say whether it is just a matter of the body systems going abut their normal healing processes when the case is not serious.

In any event, I am taking this experience as a chance to explore all the medical traditions available to me as a major learning project.

I have absolute proof that what Eastern traditions say about energy centers in my body is correct; because I have two places where I can now influence patterns of palpitation that are quite different from that coming from my heart.

For example, this morning I was producing very fast (but also very light) beats at the back of my head, and able to change their rhythm, and all were completely different from how my heart was beating. So this, to me, confirms that some kind of energy center (a chakra) is near the top of my spine at the neck.

I will report to you in due course.
