Follow-up: Daughter has bump on frenulum under tongue. Hurts to eat and talk. What can I do for it? 1 hour later
She said that it's been there since this past Thursday. She had been sucking on candy thing that has juice in one end and a hard sucker candy on the other end. The suction of the part with the juice got stuck on the frenulum. Then she pulled it off. It looks like a zit on each side of the frenulum near the bottom. They are hard to see in the picture. She said that it hurts on the right side when she chews but not on the left. She doesn't have a fever right now. I'll try to load the pictures.

Hi

Thanks for your followup and thanks for posting the pictures

I can clearly see an ulcer on the frenulum, she has some how injured it

Another observation from the pictures is - She probably is wearing braces for orthodontia treatment

Kids with braces develop these type of ulcers commonly

The best treatment available is :
1] A good antiinflammatory tablet twice a day
2] Local analgesic/anesthetic gel application
3] Avoid repeated irritation to the injured area

Hope this helps

Thanks! We used a warm, salt water rinse earlier. She does have braces. I will give her some Ibuprofen before she goes to bed.
