Brief Answer:
Hi,

Detailed Answer:
You are advised to take measures on priority basis.
About your mom--
1-Send the complete report of Kidney functions. It does not contain reports of urea, creatinine etc. It is all the more important, as she is having high BP. High BP may be caused by kidney disorders as well as it also has deteriorating effects on kidney. Also, as uric acid is high as well as sodium is low. Kindly see, if she is taking some diuretic like hydrochlorthiazide etc. as it can cause low sodium level & high uric acid level. If it is so, it should be changed with some other salt.
2- Her LDL is high, she needs some lipolytic drug along with dietary restriction of fat.
3- Her, T3 is on lower side of range & TSH is increased. SHE SHOULD get her thyroid functions checked periodically & may need treatment with thyroxine.
4- Vitamin D3 IS DECREASED. Hence needs treatment with D3 SUPPLEMENT.
5-Vitamin B 12 is increased. Hence stop all medicines having B12.
-About Your Dad
1-Triglyceride is increased, hence treatment for it is advised along with fat restriction. particularly , as he is already a patient of heart disease with angioplasty done, he should be more careful.
2- Vitamin D3 is substantially reduced, he needs supplements of Vitamin D3 on priority basis. May need some injectable in the beginning. Vitamin D deficiency has a negative effect on heart function, hence treatment needed on priority basis.
3- Sodium is decreased, hence, kindly check, if he is taking some diuretic like hydrochlorthiazide etc. If so, then it should be replaced with some other salt.
To emphasise, I will like to say, that theses are the main points which, I think are to be TAKEN CARE OF. Still, it all is to be done under care of your doctor, who will advise you specifically, with refrence to their clinical condition.

Hi Doctor,
Thanks for the advice. I have attached my mom's full kidney test report. Can you please check?
She is taking Ultracet for her knee pain from some time now. Does that include in hydrochlorthiazide medicine?

Brief Answer:
Hi,

Detailed Answer:
I have gone thru the kidney reports of your mom. All the reports, like urea, creatinine & blood urea are all within normal range. Therefore, I will advise you to take care of the points, I have already mentioned.
About, ultracet, it is an analgesic drug which contains tramadol & acetaminophen. There is no study to show, that this drug has any effect on uric acid level. Hydrochlorthiazide is a diuretic. This drug or other similar diuretic drugs might have been prescribed for hypertension or heart condition etc. Kindly check this group of treatment & act accordingly.
