Could Muscle Weakness Be Because Of Esomeprazole Or Omeprazole While Having Cough And Wheezing?
Question: I am coughing and wheezing and when I take esomeprazole but I don't know if it is the cause also I have experienced muscle weekness for a number of months. Could it be because of esomeprazole or omeprazole?

Coughing and wheezing are not considered a common side effects of omeprazole or esomeprazole. GERD is a common cause of wheezing and coughing. Esomeprazole is prescribed for the same and wheezing often improves with the acid control and lessening of GERD.
However, it has been found that less than 1% of the people have reported the side effect of cough and wheezing among the people reporting side effects. Half of these people are above the age of 60 years.
