Could Fairly Frequent Head Pain Above Ear Be Due To Muscle Strain In Upper Neck And Back Or A Pinching A Nerve?

Question: On and off fairly frequent head pain above ear. Matches description of a Migraine. have infrequently. usually disappears for a few months then reappears. Could this be cause by muscle strain in upper neck/back pinching a nerve.
