Chest Cold, Lung Pain Causing Difficulty While Exhaling. Cause Of Concern?
Question: My Mom has been sick with a nasty chest cold. Had a clear chest xray one month ago. Said that one lung hurt this morning...now both. Only while breathing in does it hurt. Says it feels good to exhale. She is stubborn as all get out. Am worried. She just relocated from XXXXXXX to San XXXXXXX Tx. Says she will go to Doc in the morn. Am really worried and hrs away. Help, please. Thank you.

It is typical pleuritic pain. Pain arising from the pleura- structure covering the lungs causes this pain.
But it is not a killer one.
So going to the hospital in the morning is ok.
As a Home remedy , she can do steam inhalation for 15 minutes.
