default
Posted on Tue, 16 May 2023
Question: hello, i have fibromyalgia and syringomyelia. (there is a cyst in my c6 area). i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2016 and syringomyelia in march this year. my rheumatologist prescribed me panadol osteo x 3 a day and celebrex i a day in the morning (before we knew about the syringomyelia) i have low iron and my doctor prescribed me iron tablets (1 a day for a month i think thrn drop it back). i am wanting to take a multivitamin, but will this be too much with the iron tablet? as I also have a vitamin D tablet to take once a month (also my vit D levels were low prescribed by the dr) can i still take the celebrex now that I have been diagnosed with syringomyelia? i am also wondering if i take vitamin c and magnesium (as I have a lot of leg cramps) i am wondering if this is ok also? would tumeric be benificial as well? i am looking at ways to combat the fatigue and pain. thank you sorry for the long post.

Brief Answer:
Yes, turmeric can be beneficial. Celebrex safe in syringomyelia.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

If the multi vitamin contains additional iron then the iron dose may be inconveniently high.

Make sure that either you get a supplement that contains the same amountof iron or you take a multivitamin devoid of it.

The magnesium and Vitamin C supplementation can be done if there is lab proven or clinically suspected deficiency.

Celebrex is safe w.r.t syringomyelia.

Turmeric can be beneficial in fibromyalgia in some individuals.

Hope this helps your query.

Wishing you the best of health.
