Thyroid conditions such as an under-active thyroid ('hypo-thyroidism') and an over-active thyroid ('hyper-thyroidism') can result in symptoms such as dizziness and headaches. However these are probably less common compared to the more usual types of complaints reported by those with these two types of thyroid problems.
A simple blood test called TSH can reliably distinguish between these different types of thyroid condition. This test does not require any fasting and can be done at any time of the day.
