Posted on Thu, 18 Aug 2016
Question: I had a yeast infection in XXXXXXX I did the three day treatment with Monistat, and it went away. Now I am in Mexico taking 250 mg of cipro per day to ward off any Montezuma's revenge. The yeast infection has returned. Should I do a 3 day treatment again? Does the cipro have anything to do with it returning?

Brief Answer:
Yes you can repeat the treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through. Based on the history you have shared, yes antibiotics use is associated with disruption of normal flora in the body and increase tendency of fungal infections. But if the indication of antibiotics usage is strong enough then there use can't be avoided. You can repeat the course if it had given you relief before but after discussing with your primary physician. Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
