Can Severe Stomach Pain During Periods Be Treated And Cured?

Question: My wife has been feeling too much stomach pain during her periods . She used to face stomach pain even before , but not to this extent. Another observation is that recently she is not having bleeding for all 5day and bleeding stops by 3 days. Earlier she used to have bleeding till 5th day.
Please suggest if there are any remedies for her stomach pain during her periods.

Hi,

Pain during the periods can be due to spasmodically dysmenorrhea or due to some pathology in the uterus or ovaries like fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, adenomyosis etc.
Spasmodic dysmenorrhea is physiological and normal phenomenon, and can be relieved by Meftal spas, Drotin or Combiflam tablets.
However, if she is having severe pain, then she should get an ultrasound done and get the diagnosis confirmed.
Further treatment should be done accordingly.

Thanks for your response. She has recently got her Ultra sound test done for abdomen .. etc and there were no abnormalities in her test results. Should we just continue using Mefthal space and stop bothering too much about this ?
