Question: hi, could sciatica problem cause
anxiety? before my anxiety started I had a very bad sciatica problem. I barley (couldn't)walked for 6 weeks that how much pain I had in my buttock. and I still feel it sometimes.
I cant think of anything else what could cause my anxiety. I had all kind of tests done. all negative.

There is no proven fact stating that sciatica is/can cause anxiety. On the contrary there might be probable chances of your anxiety causing sciatica.

The body reacts to stress physically, emotionally and mentally. Mentally, stress reduces that ability of the brain to overcome all of these symptoms and leads to an unfulfilled and unhappy life.

Sciatica is a condition that is actually not an illness or injury on its own. It is actually a symptom of other medical problems. Lot of anxiety or stress can cause muscle tightness , aggravating your symptoms.

Because there is no medical cure to it, any type of stress reduction techniques can help, including regular exercise, deep breathing and meditation. Meanwhile use some self care treatments;

1)Stretching exercises-may help relieve nerve root compression.
2)Over the counter pain medications.
3)muscle relaxants
4)See a physical therapist for certain posture and exercises.
